Movie Review Monday - Wanderlust

Add caption
Not to mince words, Wanderlust, starring Jennifer Anniston and Paul Rudd, does little to expand the comedy genre. It starts out promising, but loses steam almost immediately, depending on weary, recycled jokes. In its defense, there are some amusing scenes, worth a few chuckles, but the movie as a whole does little to surprise.

I did really enjoyed Paul Rudd and Jennifer Anniston, as well as the entire supporting cast, but the script just doesn’t give them a lot to work with. It raises some deeper issues about the nature of relationships and love, but quickly backs away from those question and falls back on the same tired clichés. So is this movie a horrible snorefest?

No.

But if I were you, I’d wait to catch this on video. Or better yet, free on Netflix streaming.
